School management software for state board schools
Built for every Indian state board — Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, AP, Telangana, West Bengal, UP, Bihar, Kerala, Gujarat, and more. Configurable grading, regional language support, and affordable pricing.
Indian state boards are not interchangeable. Maharashtra SSC has its own grading and subject structure. Tamil Nadu's curriculum has unique language combinations. Karnataka's PUC structure is different from CBSE's senior secondary. UP Board has its own assessment timeline. School software that's "CBSE-first" almost always misses these details. Schoolar is built so a Tamil Nadu state board school in Coimbatore and a Maharashtra SSC school in Pune can both use it without custom-template fights.
Configurable grading per board
State boards use different grading systems — some percentage-based, some grade-based with different bands. Schoolar's grading engine is fully configurable: define grade ranges, pass marks, internal/external weightings, and term-wise consolidation rules per class. Set it once at the start of the academic year; the system handles the rest.
Regional language as first or second language
State boards almost always require a regional language — Marathi in Maharashtra, Tamil in Tamil Nadu, Kannada in Karnataka, Telugu in AP and Telangana, Bengali in West Bengal, Malayalam in Kerala, Gujarati in Gujarat, and so on. Schoolar supports these as configurable language subjects per class with separate marks and grades. The system never forces a "Hindi-first" structure.
Affordable pricing for state-board schools
Many state-board schools operate on tight budgets — particularly in tier-2 and tier-3 cities. Schoolar's Starter plan is designed for schools with up to 500 students and includes the full suite. Annual billing keeps the per-student cost low. There are no hidden modules to buy; everything is in.
Fee collection that works in your city
Razorpay-powered fee collection accepts UPI, cards, net banking, and wallets — every payment instrument Indian parents use. UPI Collect is 0% surcharge in most plans, so schools can collect fees online without passing extra cost to parents. Cash and cheque collections are still recordable for parents who prefer those — the receipt and audit trail work the same way.
WhatsApp communication with regional language messages
Compose WhatsApp templates in any language — Tamil, Marathi, Telugu, Bengali — and send to parents in bulk or individually. Variables (student name, fee due, attendance status) are merged in automatically. Parent replies route back into a unified inbox visible to teachers and admin.
Designed for tier-2 and tier-3 city schools
Schoolar runs on any modern mobile or desktop browser. The interface is optimized for low-bandwidth networks. The PWA mobile app installs from the browser without a Play Store download — useful when staff devices have limited storage. Offline capture for attendance is on the roadmap.
Frequently asked questions
Does Schoolar support all Indian state boards?
Yes. Schoolar is configurable to every state board — Maharashtra (SSC/HSC), Tamil Nadu (TNSCERT), Karnataka (KSEEB), Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, West Bengal, UP Board, Bihar, Kerala, Gujarat, and others. Grading scale, subject lists, and report card format are configurable per school.
Is there support for regional languages?
Yes. Schoolar supports regional language subjects (Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Bengali, Hindi, Malayalam, Gujarati, Punjabi, etc.) as first or second language. The user interface is currently in English; multi-language UI is on the roadmap.
Can fees be collected without UPI surcharges?
Razorpay's UPI fee for schools is 0% on UPI Collect transactions, so schools can collect fees online with no payment-gateway surcharge passed to parents. Card and net-banking fees are passed through transparently or absorbed by the school — your choice in the configuration.
