Delete your account

    Schoolar — in.schoolar.app

    You can delete your Schoolar account and its associated data at any time. You do not need to contact us first, and you do not need an active subscription.

    Deleting from inside the app

    1. Open the Schoolar app and sign in.
    2. Tap your profile picture in the top-right corner to open the account menu, then choose Profile if you are school staff, or My Account if you are a parent.
    3. Scroll to Delete my account.
    4. Review the summary of exactly what will be removed, type DELETE to confirm, and confirm.

    The same steps work on the web at schoolar.in. Deletion takes effect immediately and you are signed out straight away.

    If you cannot sign in

    Email contact@schoolar.in from the address registered on the account, with the subject Delete my account. We verify ownership of the address and complete the deletion within 30 days.

    What is deleted

    • Your login credentials and authentication record
    • Your profile — name, phone number, and avatar
    • Your role assignments and your school memberships
    • Your push-notification device registrations
    • Every stored face template, if you are a staff member who enrolled in face-verified attendance. Face templates are numeric descriptors, never photographs — see the Privacy Policy for detail.

    What is retained, and why

    Some records belong to your school rather than to you. Your school is the data controller for them and may be legally required to keep them, so deleting your login does not erase them:

    • Attendance history, including punch records with their timestamps and locations, retained as part of your school's attendance record
    • Marks, exam results, and report cards held by the school
    • Fee and payment records, retained for the period required under Indian tax law

    To have school-held records about you corrected or erased, contact your school directly. School data as a whole is deleted or anonymised 60 days after the school's subscription ends, except where law requires longer retention.

    If you are the only owner of a school

    Deleting the sole owner of a school that still has other members would lock every remaining teacher, accountant, and parent out of their own records, so we do not do it instantly. Instead the app records your deletion request and tells you immediately that it has done so. We contact you within 7 days to transfer ownership to someone else at the school, and your account is deleted within 30 days of your original request.
